Nico Mueller and Pascal Wehrlein are confirmed as third drivers in the Porsche Penske Motorsport Hypercar team for the WEC's 6H Spa.

Wehrlein will make his first Hypercar appearance just weeks before competing with Porsche Penske at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the third factory car alongside Nick Tandy and Felipe Nasr.

The 30-year-old made his sportscar debut earlier this year at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, driving for JDC-Miller Motorsports and completing his first competitive action at the wheel of the 963 LMDh.

For Spa, the German will join reigning world champions Laurens Vanthoor and Kévin Estre in the #6 Porsche 963, with Mueller racing alongside Julien Andlauer and Michael Christensen in the #5.

Both will make their maiden appearances for the factory prototype squad, with Mueller marking his return to the top class after leaving Peugeot at the end of 2024.

The Swiss driver has also been confirmed as Porsche's reserve driver at Le Mans.

Mathieu Jaminet and Matt Campbell will return to their third driver roles in the #5 and #6 cars respectively at the 24 Hours, but are unavailable for Spa as it clashes with IMSA's Laguna Seca round.

“It’s obviously first-class that I can celebrate my debut in FIA WEC at Spa-Francorchamps and get to know the way Porsche Penske Motorsport works even earlier – every competitive kilometre with the Porsche 963 counts,” explained Wehrlein.

“In Kévin and Laurens, I have two team-mates from whom I can learn a lot. I’m really looking forward to competing on such an iconic racetrack as the Belgian Grand Prix circuit.”

“I’m also looking forward to returning to FIA WEC and competing in the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps alongside Julien and Michael," described Mueller.

"Following my Sebring stint in IMSA and some testing, I will be able to complete more important laps with the Porsche 963. This is a great opportunity, and I would like to thank both Porsche Penske Motorsport and my Formula E team Andretti for making it possible.”
